NEW CLASSROOM BUILDING AT WELAMITIYAWA PRIMARY SCHOOL DECLARED OPEN
The newly constructed classroom building at Welamitiyawa Primary School, Galewela was ceremonially declared open today (28 May 2026) by the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Krishanthi Edirisinghe.
The classroom building project was made possible through the generous financial contribution extended by the Japan – Sri Lanka Friendship Association with the support of its President, Dr. Lal Thilakarathne and distinguished member Dr. (Mrs.) Eranga Thilakarathne. The construction of the building was carried out under the direction of the Directorate of Constructions Engineering with the coordination of the Commanding Officer SLAF Station Sigiriya and the contribution of all members of SLAF Station Sigiriya.
The ceremony concluded with cultural performances presented by the students and the event was attended by delegates from the Japan Sri Lanka Friendship Association, members of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, representatives of SLAF Station Sigiriya, school staff, parents and distinguished guests.
