Description

The technical wood technician was originally established to address aircraft woodworking requirements. Tech Wood Tradesmen increasingly engaged in furniture manufacturing tasks involving timber and melamine materials.

Duties and responsibilities

Manufacturing wooden and melamine furniture.
Operating woodworking and machining equipment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Age	Not less than 18 years and not more than 22 years as at 01 August 2026.

GCE O/L REQUIREMENTS

Passes in 06 subjects at the GCE (O/L) Examination in not more than two sittings including Simple (S) passes in Sinhala / Tamil, Mathematics / Science.
or
Pearson Edexcel International General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) exam or Cambridge International Ordinary Level exams: Passes in 06 subjects in not more than two sittings. Passes are compulsory for English, all Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) or Mathematics.
and
Possession of NVQ Level qualification / Training from a Technical college or reputed institute and work experience in relevant fields will be an added advantage.
