ABOUT THE ARMAMENT MECHANIC

Description 

Armament mechanics are responsible for ensuring the operational readiness, serviceability, and safety of all aircraft armament systems, air defence weapons, and small arms within the SLAF. Their role is critical to mission effectiveness and safety during both air and ground operations.

Duties and responsibilities

  1. Conducting inspections, servicing, and maintenance of armament systems
  2. Repairing aircraft weapon systems, air defence systems, and small arms.
  3. Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and explosive handling procedures.
  4. Maintaining accurate armament maintenance and inspection records.
  5. Supporting operational readiness of weapon systems.

Nationality Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka
Age Not less than 18 years and not more than 23 years as at 01 August 2026.

GCE O/L REQUIREMENTS
Passes in 06 subjects at the GCE (O/L) Examination in not more than two sittings including simple (S) passes in Sinhala / Tamil, English language, Mathematics / Science.
or
Pearson Edexcel International General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) exam or Cambridge International Ordinary Level exams: Passes in 06 subjects in not more than two sittings. Passes are compulsory for English, all Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) or Mathematics.
